You're posting some absolute crap at the minute - my website contains a semi-active blog that even gets referenced by other professionals every now and again. If you're trying to operate as a real, actual, value add consultant then things like websites do help.

No, I don't really expect an agent to bother checking - but a potential client may just want to know what I'm all about before they give me the keys to their project.

I had one client say at interview in a surprised tone 'you're not Asian?'. It threw me a bit until i released I was reworking my website and had used some stock photos for head shots. The dude just happened to be Asian.

Hence why I now have silhouettes on there .

I have had quite a few people check it before interview and comment on my plan b but I'm a web Dev so that may have something to do with it.

I do not disagree that a potential hirer might have a look but if the website address was on your actual selling document - the cv, otherwise they would not bother. No hirer has the time to trawl for you however special you may think you are..... they work from up-to-date information on their screen at the moment and move on to the next screen.

Do your handsome looks improve your ability to work as a website developer, then? Or are you just being narcissistic by including a picture?
