Do your handsome looks improve your ability to work as a website developer, then? Or are you just being narcissistic by including a picture?

I do not disagree that a potential hirer might have a look but if the website address was on your actual selling document - the cv, otherwise they would not bother. No hirer has the time to trawl for you however special you may think you are..... they work from up-to-date information on their screen at the moment and move on to the next screen.Originally posted by vwdan View PostYou're posting some absolute crap at the minute - my website contains a semi-active blog that even gets referenced by other professionals every now and again. No, I don't really expect an agent to bother checking - but a potential client may just want to know what I'm all about before they give me the keys to their project.

I had one client say at interview in a surprised tone 'you're not Asian?'. It threw me a bit until i released I was reworking my website and had used some stock photos for head shots. The dude just happened to be Asian.
Hence why I now have silhouettes on there
.
I have had quite a few people check it before interview and comment on my plan b but I'm a web Dev so that may have something to do with it.

I should but don't have a company website. The header on my CV contains a link to my fairly active technical blog. My company domain points to the same place, for now.
Although I wouldn't expect potential clients to attach great weight to it, and the agency likely strips it out anyway, the blog does demonstrate my skills. If I were about to interview somebody, I would probably visit their blog out of curiosity.
Anybody recommend a good website authoring company ? With examples.

I thought it would be good to show.
Thanks

I put mine on - I'm sure it gets stripped most of the time, but I try to keep things unified and 'corporate' - plus its got my blog (Not much on it admittedly) and and my Plan B which I'm proud of and is directly relevent to Plan A.
it's in the footer next to my Linked In profile so it doesn't steal any real space.

So, assuming there are around 100,000 contractors, you only have another 99,950 to seeOriginally posted by VillageContractor View PostAround 50, ranging from Dev to PM. If your CV was i n electronic format having URLs on it makes sense however as most people print them out it doesn't.

Not on mine, but my email address is and you could derive it from there.
Or with a few key words in Google you'd find me from the CV.
If I was in website development then I'd put it on there in more detail.
