oh odd the accountants I worked with running multi billion pound companies only worked 9-5 but they knew what they were doing.

The book keepers worked long hours until they got the acquired companies books under control. Usually took them a few weeks.

I've been working in Finance departments in some of the biggest companies in the UK, across multiple sectors, for nearly 30 years, and I've never known the finance teams to work 9-5. Sorry mate, but you're talking bollox as usual.

Unless you care to name some of these companies that you only see finance teams working 9-5 to prove me wrong.

It happens in departments that know what they are doing. I worked for some of the biggest companies in the world.
