Oh yeah, I forgot, in the Numptyworld we're going to ban all non-British artists from ever playing here. Only a total knobhead would even think that might happen. His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain... -

Really? I'll buy you a pint of whatever you run on if that ever happens. Petrol, diesel and cider are quite easy. Fook knows where I'm going to get a pint of two-stroke though...Originally posted by BR14 View PostQED

Plenty of not very rich US musicians manage to play in the UK and the EU.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

What do you think the Beatles did before they were famous, half the bloody UK acts from the 50s and 60s toured Europe before they made it big - predominantly Germany! All this before FoM. They dealt with the paperwork as required.Originally posted by TestMangler View PostMy actual point, Mr Daltrey, is that not all touring musicians are the Who.
There are legions of small touring artists, both UK based (touring EU) and EU based, taking in the UK, who will have financial and non-financial barriers put in the way of their work. One good example would be Chris Difford, ex Squeeze, who plays small gigs in small club type venues, 80+ seaters or so. The margins are tight and putting additional costs and difficulties in the way is actually a bad thing.
As for there being a mountain of paperwork for playing Butlins in Bognor, thats just bollocks. Have played Butlins gigs before (Not Bognor sadly) and still do some for Parkdean and there is no paperwork involved except maybe emailing a copy of your PL insurance.
But, i'm sure you couldn't give a ****, cause it wont effect you.
Of course, that doesn't fit your rhetoric, does it?Comment

The slow of reading are confused - this is about acts coming to play in the UK - we've "Taken back control" and made it more difficult for any act from anywhere around the world to come and play.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

So less global warming. What is not to like?Originally posted by WTFH View PostThe slow of reading are confused - this is about acts coming to play in the UK - we've "Taken back control" and made it more difficult for any act from anywhere around the world to come and play.
Globalization is over. Localization is the future.Comment

But the point is no one is stopping them from coming over here to play - and having to have some sort of visa paperwork is not like completely new or not needed going anywhere else in the world though.Originally posted by WTFH View PostThe slow of reading are confused - this is about acts coming to play in the UK - we've "Taken back control" and made it more difficult for any act from anywhere around the world to come and play.Comment
