You can always gauge the hopelessness of Brexit according to the extent to which the EU army is debated. In particular debates over conscription.

apparently Wales has been a major recipient of EU funds over the years, so how do you account for the fact that the majority of people in Wales voted to leave the EU? I wouldn't have thought that conscription to an EU army was high on the list of reasons. Perhaps it is the natural resistance of the Welsh to outside influences, we still call England the "old enemy" when we play them at rugby.

OK carrot, there may not be a specific requirement for member states to be Christian, but the ethos of the EU rests firmly on the foundation of Christianity and as such, there would likely to be resistance from many in power to the dilution of this ethos.

They were lied to, and they bought the lies. The recent election though was won by a remain supporting MP who campaigned on a remain card in a 'leave' area. None of the leave parties got anywhere near her. Maybe the majority of Welsh now are seeing the lies for what they are
