But I realise you know more about Ireland than the Irish do, and have no interest in considering anything that at all challenges your viewpoint.
Considering my wife's Uncle (Colonel (Irish Army) recently retired) was based in Brussels for 7 years tasked with planning the formation of the Joint European Armed Forces I would suggest that yes, I do know a little more about this than yourself.
Leaders of individual states come and go - this will not have a great impact on the direction that the EU heads in.

A Joint European Armed Force does not follow that
a) there will be an EU army under the command and control of the EU parliament or/
b) the fictitious EU army will have conscription (your Project Fear)
This Joint EU armed force sounds more akin to NATO to me. With the increased threats from Russia (didn't one of our CUK members fight them off once?), China's increasing world dominance and the idiots over the pond, this seems like a sensible and logical response from European neighbours who do not want another war on their doorstep.
Edit : do you really think, once we quit the EU, that we still won't be part of some EU armed force? A bit naive if you believe we won't.
