“I understand this could amount to additional support of up to £80m,” Clark wrote at the time.

The letter, which has never previously been disclosed and which the government previously declined to release under a series of Freedom of Information requests, also promised support of about £80m towards Nissan’s investments at the site in return for the decision by Nissan to expand SUV production at Sunderland.

Maybe people could actually read the letter:

In the 2016 letter from Mr Clark to Nissan's then chief executive Carlos Ghosn, he said the funding was contingent "on a positive decision by the Nissan board to allocate production of the Qashqai and X-Trail models to the Sunderland plant".

Tsk tsk! We've already covered this off OG. Do try and maintain a little focus.

Nissan had originally asked for £80m in state support but following a review by an independent advisory committee that figure was reduced to £61m.
Honestly....it is all getting a little "fish in a barrel" round here with some of you chuckleheads.

They are going to get zero now, which accidentally is “up to” 80 mln

                  aye

We were told in 2016 there were no special favours to Nissan, but now we know this was a lie. To add to all of the other lies told, especially, but not exclusively, on the Leave side.

Time for those involved in this provable lie to resign, inc TM.
