I get sciatica every now and then. I'm a bit sore. I take ibuprofen and get on with life. A colleague of mine gets it, and he's on his back for a week on opiates. Sciatica simply means inflamation in or around the sciatic nerve, As the URL you posted says, if it lasts too long, go see your GP.
