“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.” -
I do have to question you as to what you think the EU will do with an army? I think they're just being an expensive show-pony, but I can't be sure, so I'm interested to know what you think.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostNo wonder Brexit is such a **** up...His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...Comment

Protect the world and keep the peace like they did in Kosovo, Northern Ireland or Crimea ---- sorry trying to keep a straight face. They will probably just beat protesters with batons like normal. They will probably will have huge stocks of white flags just in case someone turns nasty.
Though Macron has some balls because the US might just sit back and watch as the invaders march in the shade through Paris (again) after he called them the Axis of populism.Comment

Don't go there Mordy. Not without removing all sharp objects from your immediate proximity anyway.Originally posted by Mordac View Postso I'm interested to know what you think.
The outpourings of darmy's tiny mind, were they to be made of dynamite, would not constitute enough explosive power to blow the hat off a scarecrow.

Yet you cannot get enough of them. They are like an icing on your banal monosyllabic yet prolific grunting.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostWhereas your metaphorical witticisms are like a fat kid doing butterfly in a busy pool.

Well if you look at the posts quoted I think you'll see what I meant but maybe that is too difficult for people to comprehend...Originally posted by Mordac View PostI do have to question you as to what you think the EU will do with an army? Person A: EU have an army
Person B: Absolutely no idea
Person A: Only joking, of course they don't
Person C: The EU have an army
Leavers contradicting Leavers or possibly some Leavers, not all, just spout absolute utter bollocks every time they open their mouth (or rather when they type.) Mind you, that's par for the course, you just need to look at the letter May sent to the country 'pleading' that her negotiations provide the best form of Brexit for the country, you can count a few points which are deceitful or are outright lies:

1- The deal 'is in the national interest', really, is it? This deal weakens Britain's power and standing in the world and due to that, future prosperity. How many ministers have answered the question: 'will this deal make us better or worse off' with a straight answer? If doing something which makes the country worse off then this is surely not 'in the national interest'
2 - Apparently this deal for 'all our people, whether you voted Leave or Remain'. When both sides of the vote say that this is a very bad deal and it seems to be Leave which are most critical, then this is a false statement
3- There will also be 'an end to the vast annual payments to the EU.' Not it won't, not for a very long time, in fact probably not until the end of the decade at the very least
4 - “We will be able to spend British taxpayers’ money on our own priorities, like the extra £394 million per week that we are investing in our long-term plan for the NHS.” The non-existent Brexit dividend rears it's head (remember the money tree?) A lie promulgated by the big red bus...
5 - She wrote that 'We will take back control of our laws' which is another big fat lie, the UK has always had control of it's laws. In fact during the transition period, and how long is that going to be, the UK will have to obey all EU laws, including the new ones that the UK will have no say in the passing of them. Someone put it more succintly - Rule Taker, not Rule Maker. Oh, and don't forget the backstop which the EU has a veto over
6 - Then there is the point that UK citizens living in the EU will 'have their rights protected.' Well, only up to a point, their freedom of movement has suddenly been curtailed but that is to be expected from the woman that created a 'hostile environemnt'
7 - Then there is trade, “a free trade area will allow goods to flow easily across our borders.” “Easily” is not the same as the “frictionless” trade that was promised, and which she failed to deliver
8 - How about trade with other countries, this is a piece of the action which she said would be sorted by now but hasn't. In fact she has locked the country into very large restrictions into exactly what type of deals can be signed and then putting at risk the 88 trade deals that the UK already has as a member of the EU
There's more but to use a favourite Leaver phrase, TL;DR, or fingers in my ears“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

Bearing in mind we don't have a suitable pejorative to fall back on (gammon, thick as mince etc.) I was trying to ask a legitimate question in the vain hope I'd get something resembling a straight answer. I won't be holding my breath though, because I'm not expecting one.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostDon't go there Mordy.
