So get a 1-year visa or a work visa.

But the real reason why they should, is because their country gives reciprocal rights to any Brit who wants to do the same in the opposite direction. That’s how foreign policy tends to work.

Skilled Brits can already move country. Reciprocity is all well and good when all countries involved are roughly equal. But I don't want to go and pick fruit in Poland.
