We jokingly call the EU the EUSSR not because we think they are going to suddenly murder 50 million people in the name of communism.
But more because we feel there is a slow but sure move towards a single large centralised unquestionable power like the old school USSR.
Let's get this right.... You 'feel' they are going in a direction you fear. And you think that rather than have a veto on what they're doing, we should just leave them to it?

The direction we are going in is what he voted for.

The part i did not say but hoped you would be able to extrapolate would be that no one single country within the EU will have any power to challenge the EU's authority
And because if that yes we should leave and leave them to it - lets just hope they never get that army they were wanting.

“The EU’s authority” is derived from every member state. If you don’t think that any country can challenge any decision then you have simply not been paying attention to Council or Parliament meetings. Contrary to what’s in your head, there is no nefarious dictator at the head of some shadowy organisation. It’s a rule-based organisation where every meeting and every decision is minuted and published (unlike our own government which likes to make decisions in secret meetings).
As has been mentioned above, there are vetos. Do you really think that neutral countries such as Ireland will be forced into conscription?
