There is much evidence for this but I've posted a catering organ link in a "tip-o-the-hat" to your old profession.

I've no doubt you set great store by these "links", but as you are basing your entire case upon the notion that I may, in fact, BE obese, it is once again a strategy that you have built upon sand.

Fact is, I am a former member of the British Army. Thereby MUCH less likely to suffer from this issue than the average chap. And indeed that is very much the case. Sorry to rain on your parade because it is a central tenet to most of the farcical comments you insist upon labouring with despite a stunning lack of any evidence to support it.

I guess that is your problem, being so entrenched in Mittyland!!

In fact it is much more likely that you, having failed the medical for the Cubs, are the one that is getting your moneys worth from the beleaguered NHS.

With that in mind could you please explain to me how your suggested two options respects the first referendum. If we have a referendum of the deal negotiated then it should simply be a yes/no vote on do you accept this deal. If the democratic result comes out as no then we need to understand what that means. Does it send the Government of the day back to the negotiation table, ad infintium? Does the government of the day call a general election and we have a general election based around what each party proposes as their potential deal? What a mess that would be! Although all remainers would vote SNP, Libel Democrat, Green, or that Welsh party as they are the only two parties that wholly support staying in, unless of course either the Cons. or Labour switched sides purely to get into power. How credible would that be.

To me those calling for a 2nd referendum want one that divides, or disenfranchises, the leave vote and therefore hands the majority to remain. That doesn't seem very democratic.
How/why would another ref be respecting, or need to respect, the most recent referendum? If there are enough people in the country who want a 2nd (well, technically a 3rd), referendum then that runs on it's own merits. How did the 2016 ref respect the 1st referendum?

Like I say, not a fan of another ref unless there is overwhelming evidence that the country has changed it's mind based on the reality that coming out of the last 2 years.

i don't think 'no deal' should be an option because I want the government to state what the exit deal is. Even a 'no deal' should be a choice with a defined destination. Any ref therefore should be between the defined choice of this government, and staying in the EU. The after a 2nd ref, the winning option should be enacted - if the deal wins, the paperwork should be signed (no more negotiations and bulltulip), and if A50 wins we should rip up the paperwork and get on with rebuilding the damage that the last 2 years has caused.

Army has new fight on its hands as it battles obesity | UK | News | Express.co.uk

"Latest official figures show that almost 10,000 personnel serving across Britain’s Armed Forces have a body mass index (BMI) of more than 30 – officially listing them as obese and in danger of diabetes. "

Back then we were fit enough to win every War we were involved in with plenty to spare.

But didn't you say recently, on another thread, that 25 years ago when in the army in India you implemented a mobile network. Your dates and story isn't stacking up?
