How many members of the Conservative Party voted for Theresa May to be their leader in the Members Vote?

MPs are chosen by the electorate. And anyone can join the conservative party.
In the first-round ballot, May, gaining the support of half of Conservative MPs, was placed first with Leadsom at second place. Fox was eliminated on the first ballot; Crabb withdrew later that day. Gove was eliminated in the second round of voting. Before the Conservative Party members were due to cast their votes, Leadsom withdrew from the contest on 11 July. May was appointed party leader later that day, and Prime Minister on 13 July.
The party members did not vote as Leadsom withdrew.
so in this case May was elected first by the people of Maidenhead (more than Drunker) then to the last two by the conservative elected MPs. Before party members could vote on which of the 2 democratically elected candidates would win one withdrew.
So yes she was more democratically elected than Drunker, first by the public then by elected representatives.
Luckily the Lib Dems are looking to remove this hurdle and propose allowing anyone to become leader! I suppose they want to be as close to the EU as possible.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

Then being an elected representative (a necessary step) she was selected by other elected representatives from the party that had the most votes from the people.
Drunker was a civilian elected by MEPs. As I said before no member of the public got a voting paper with Drunker's name on it.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

1. I didn't ask to become a mod.
2. The moderation & administration team discussed it internally before agreeing to ask me to become a mod.
3. CUK isn't a democracy and it is not here to do what is best for the country.
Now, perhaps there are similarities between MF and BoJo, but I suspect your analogy is about as strong and stable as Mrs May's government.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
