And then they came for the driving licences

First Pilots Licences, then mobile phone roaming fees, and now

UK driving licence 'may not be valid in EU' after no-deal Brexit

No doubt Brexiters will dismiss this as scaremongering project fear, as "Who cares, we won, you lost, get over it", or "No that wont happen", or "fine, we'll just ban their driving licences".

I wonder what they'll think when the hoards of Polish truck drivers are no longer delivering British made food to the local supermarket?

Most of the Polish lorry drivers already live here, so getting a UK driving licence (if they don't already have one) should be something of a doddle. Still crapping yourself are you?

Yeah, makes perfect sense because most of Britons travelling to Europe will be catching a ride in those lorries anyways...

After Brexit, each UK citizen will have enough cash left over from the billions we will save in EU fees, that when we visit Europe, we can be driven around in rented Rolls Royce Phantoms. The surge in demand for left hand driven Phantoms will also boost independent UK's economy.
On our Eurpoean holidays, we will also splurge our surplus dosh on other luxury items made in Britain, again providing a tremendous boost to the independent British economy!

You do realise that this is our government who are warning of this? Not a group of internet trolls, but the very people this country voted to negotiate with Europe. They will know more than any of us what the risks are and hence they are writing to warn us.

Of course, you can pretend this is all project fear, or you can take responsibility for your actions and accept that unless we get some kind of deal then these warnings could become reality.

I think we all expect there to be a deal of sorts and for most of this to be sorted, but there are no guarantees.

Yes, but did you read the rest of the notice?

The solution is trivial. You get an international driving license. It costs a whole £5.50 from the post office. You can do it today.

                Once again its a non-story.

Only if they do it before Brexit, after Brexit then it's a whole different kettle of fish

Nearly...An International Driving Permit isn’t the same as an International Driving Licence (IDL) – which isn’t a legally recognised document. Also, if taking up residence or employment, or travelling for a reason other than tourism, find out about your personal position before relying on an IDP.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

The way things go at the moment (even without Brexit) soon there won’t be any Post Offices open
