Probably not. Just interesting from the viewpoint of a Conservative conundrum.

On the one hand, they could easily replicate the EU law.
On the other hand, they believe in market forces, and laws to force companies to do something is socialist...
On the one hand, the companies have expressed their desire not to change, so what’s the problem?
On the other hand, they had to be forced to change in the first place by the EU, so are additional laws required to protect against the possibility of change by the telecoms companies?

It might not be very important at all, but it is one of thousands of decisions that need to be made by the government, distracting them from the very real problems that also need to be fixed.

I drive through France regularly, listening to iplayer radio in the car. Unlikely to do this if it costs a load-of-extra-data-allowance. Sigh.

I imagine they're all also looking forward to the return of those posters in airports explaining the return of the limits of alcohol and tobacco products being brought back. Remember those days 25 years ago when people hid booze and fags their suitcases when coming back from Tenerife and the excitement of not knowing whether you'd be randomly checked in the 'Nothing to Declare' queue.
