Of all the bad things Brexit will cause roaming charges ought to be the least worry.
Have they started talking about getting visas for travel? Even "visa free" US travel requires ESTA, which is effectively visa-light, something that EU will introduce soon - bye bye last minute breaks as you'll have to submit info 48 hours in advanceComment

Precisely, whatever the government says is absolute bollocks. If the UK operators are charged more by EU operators, do you really think that they're going to swallow those charges or will they pass them onto the customer? Place your bets:Originally posted by Eirikur View Post
Roaming may be free for customers but not for the operators. Every time you use your phone abroad your home operator is charged a fee by the one you are using abroad. That rate has been capped by the EU as part of the abolition of roaming but once the UK leaves all bets are off.
"If we leave the market they wouldn't be bound by the directive," says one operator. "They could treat our customers like someone from America or Australia and double or triple the charge."“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

they could or the operators may be unpopular considering the number of people from the EU come to the UK.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostPrecisely, whatever the government says is absolute bollocks. Or we will just see a market in EU sims start up in the UK. Maybe they will take advantage of our new low tax rates.Comment
