    yum - Chlorine-washed chicken

Hurl blow chunks... no wonder it's a free trade deal.

Chlorine-washed chicken and hormone-injected beef should be part of a UK/US free trade deal, a farming union said.
Roger Johnson, president of America's National Farmers Union, said US food was "perfectly safe" and there had been a lot of "fear-mongering".
The politically-influential union represents more than 200,000 US farms.
Mr Johnson also told the BBC that a free trade deal would open up the huge US market to British products in a boost for UK farmers.
Agricultural products are likely to form a central part of any free trade deal with America that both the UK and US governments have said they want to sign when Brexit has been completed.
Any deal is likely to be controversial and the British National Farmers Union has already made it clear its reservations about allowing open access to US food products.
American food standards have been criticised in the UK and the European Union prohibits many US products.

Didn't some other dull moron post this in the Brexit forum?

It's basically chlorinated water used to wash chicken. So sort of like tap water to wash it. Horrifying for you morons to think of eating chicken washed this way I'm sure...

Go have a Austrian goat milk double-half-caf-half-decaf-soy milk cappuccino - extra hot - with a dash of Madagascar cinnamon-and half tablespoon of caramel-latte-frappa-mocha and think about it.

strange it seems the EU agrees its ok.

      https://fullfact.org/europe/does-eu-...nsed-chlorine/

The European Food Safety Authority has said that there are “no safety concerns” with the chlorination of chicken, but it has also said this practice might not be sufficient for maintaining good hygiene standards throughout the slaughter process.

hmm cue the Remoaners now praising Chlorinated Chicken!

The only reason to adopt these practices is to disguise the ill treatment of animals.

The problem isn't chlorined chicken, the problem is that those who do it refuse to allow clear labels that would call chlorined chicken what it is - chlorined chicken.

You'll find what you're looking for in New York City....

Gold-dusted chicken wings are coming to these New York eateries | NY Daily News

The prized poultry pieces are first soaked in a mixture of coconut butter, gold butter, chipotle and honey batter for 24 hours. Then, real gold flakes are sprinkled on top of the wings before they're served with a side of gourmet dipping blue cheese.

Listening to "Farming Today" on R4, it seems the government are intent on allowing imported chlorinated chicken from the US on the grounds that "lower prices will help poor people."
