EU bank may not fully repay UK until 2054

Brexit: EU bank may not fully repay UK until 2054 - BBC News

Billions of euros of British taxpayers' money could remain locked into an EU bank for more than thirty years after you-know-what, the UK has been warned.
Don't worry lads, we'll just deduct it from whatever you say you want from us...

Yes. Because the UK holds all the cards.

It's an EU investment bank. Not the organisation to whom the divorce bill would be owed.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Nonetheless an organisation we cannot be a member of if we leave the EU.
The money that will (may) get paid back is as the loans mature so nothing controversial really. Legally how they manage to relive our shareholding whilst still being able to repay those loans will be interesting. More lawyers getting rich I think.

We don't owe anyone anything except to honour previously agreed commitments post 2020. Anything over and above that is extortion / punishment / whatever description you see fit.

So there’s an investment that doesn’t mature for 30+ years and an investor is being told that if you pull out early you won’t get all your money back. If people think this is some form of punishment, they need to speak to their financial advisor and stop trying to make it a political issue.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

It’s better than that. They’ll let us pull out AND still get paid but only as the loans mature. That’s a better deal than anything David Davies could ask for.

I want a big part of their pension in the Divorce, Also I want to keep mine so split the prospective value up and get ready to buy us out.

Remoaning just a sea of bad analogies!
