I don't see the UK exchanging 'Made in China' for 'Made in USA', one you've got poor quality and the other genetic guff in your foodstuffs.
Yes a trade deal with the US might be a bargaining chip for EU negotiations but I don't like the prize myself. It might make a good newspaper headline but a trade deal with the US is TPP on steroids if you ask me. You think Thrump won't come down like a ton of bricks and support the suing of UK entities when things don't go their way? BP would not exist today if that oil spill occurred under a Thrump president.
A deal with Canada would be far better, which we have for two years now. Better make the most of it!

ok so this thread morphed from UK leave/remain in the EU to Scotland leave/remain in the UK
got it thanks

not quite, scooter believes that the Indyref would have been won if the populace had realised that we would vote Brexit (despite an EU referendum being pledged at the time, so he has to tell us occasionally they were lied to by politicians, who would have thunk it?
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.
On the S-Bahn this morning on the way to my German class I heard what must have been my first argument in years! A German gal arguing with a older American (but not a visitor, perhaps working here) who voted for Trump. She just could not believe what she was hearing. 'You don't vote for a sexist misogynist etc etc' US: 'but he's arguing for ordinary people... it's like we are in the twilight zone' Her: 'Yes except this twilight zone is reality, it's not even funny. It's serious £@£$£$ up' - quite heated.
Even though the France and German elections are coming up I'd be super surprised if the French and Germans follow the UK and the US to the right of the political spectrum. If anything I see a strengthening of partners, which may make the UK vomit. Mad as a box of frogs.

We were lied to.
David Cameron said "EU membership not secure! – David Cameron claimed that the only way to protect Scotland’s EU membership was to reject independence. No campaign spokespeople parroted the phrase “EU membership only guaranteed with a No vote”.
His words not mine.
But no one in Scotland, or very few, thought the UK would vote to leave the EU. Many members of my family back home were more concerned about currency. Affordability did not come into it. But remaining members of the EU was key especially for EU nationals working in Scotland.

I don't know a few more kids assaulted in swimming baths etc. and nutters with automatic weapons (hoping neither happens) who knows which way you will go?

Forever sucking on the media's breasts. The day the Daily Mail goes bankrupt can't come soon enough.
Has it not already been shown the media, the Guardian, the BBC, they've got it all wrong continuously. The Times and the Telegraph are no better with their sensationalist headlines. The day we stop spouting the media garbage will be a day to late.
