    Question for you.
If IndyRef 2 were to take place tomorrow, using the same voting criteria as last time, and the results from last time were to be reversed, with 55% in favour of Independence with 45% against, would YOU describe that as Democratic?

A simple Yes or No will suffice.

Depends on the bulltulip leading up. Most EU nationals voted in as they knew we'd remain in the EU. That's not certain.

I agree with the other posters that a Trump presidency could be a good thing for the UK negotiations in Brexit. If the USA signal they will do a deal with us before Europe but also want to reduce the commitment to NATO. Then our military becomes very valuable in the defence of Europe.

I can see Trump recognising the annexation of Crimea as Russian territory in exchange for resolving or putting USA boots on the ground in Syria, which will put the fear into the e.u. that Lithuania and Latvia will be next.

I hope he renews his commitment to NATO but he has stated in the past he is not a big fan.

Not a Trump fan, but I voted for Brexit.

                  1. Looks like an opportunity to do a very early trade deal with the USA has now opened up.

                  2. Although I'm not happy with the reduction in the US commitment to NATO ( a bad thing), the second largest contributor to NATO is the UK. There will be a push on for an EU Army, but in the interim the UK will become a key defence force for the European borders.

In my view these are some serious bargaining chips and now puts the UK in a very much stronger position to strike mutual trade and defence deals with the EU and the USA. I think the possibility that the UK will not brexit has just dropped considerably.

Some basic maths for the the economic logic ...

EU GDP 17trn / EU GDP less UK 14trn
                  UK GDP 3trn
US GDP 17trn / US GDP + UK GDP 20trn
Since when are we a part of the USA?

ah I see your source of confusion.

INdyRef refers to the Scottish Independence vote. 2 Sides Remain in UK (which won) & Leave UK (which lost).

Scooter despite having escaped Scotland decades ago as there was no work or culture there was a rabid leave / Independence fighter from sunny Deutschland.

So in his referendum leave lost.
