Security cleared failed even thou I have SC with MOD

I recently joined the contracting market as a programme project planning specialist, I was lucky to receive my first assignment this week which commenced Mon 16th June. The problem is that the government agency I have gone to have informed my that I failed the SC checks even thou I renewed my clearance with the MOD last year. As you can imagine what it was like when I was told I could not do any more work for the agency and was formally marched off sit.

My question is that I was considered a suitable candidate had discussions with the employer and agent and in their eyes they were happy to take me on at risk (waiting for the SC to transfer) do I have any legal rights to make against the government agency on taking me on without completing the checks as now it looks like I will not be returning (which I accept) but this has put me in a financial situation which I explained once informed.

That's contracting, you're not an employee, get out of that mindset, and look for another contract.

Correct. Telling you why you failed only means that you now know what to hide from them.

And as I keep saying, having clearance for one role does not mean it is valid for a different one - the requirement goes with the role, not the person doing it - and not all SOs recognise other people's clearances.

On what grounds do you think you could have a case? You aren't suitable to do the work, so what claim do you think you could be making?
