Can I claim Tesco food from home?

    Hi all,

My new contract is 15 minutes walking-distance from where I live. I was wondering whether it would be possible to claim expenses for food that I would buy from Tesco during work hours, considering that I would have lunch at home during my lunch break.

If anyone could shed some light on this it would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    No, you can't.

Read the expenses link on the right and see if your accountant has an expenses guide. This on is pretty obvious if you have any understanding of running your business at all.

Personally it fell down well before then. I've never claimed for lunch as:-

              1) I would be buying it regardless.
              2) claiming for it as a company expense only saves me 20%. I can't face the paperwork or the investigation risk for the 60p-£1 it saves me.
