Does it really only benefit non-NTRT members (and HMRC) ?
Yes. It should be replaced by an NTRT private forum.

If it does stay, then it is way too long. It needs a new thread every time there is significant news with post #1 updated with latest news, brief history and CTD information.

Hmrc say I owe 100k, which I don't have and the sooner they get this into the thick heads the better.
Go to a psychiatrist. I don't think I should say more publicly - but PM me if you (or anyone else) wants more help.

        You're off??

thanks to your example the EBT schemes are beginning to see a more concerted approach to dealing with the collective mess we are all in.
You are, by far and away, the largest defence group - so please if anything relevant to us EBT-ers pops up in NTRT land - please drop us all a post.
        Good luck.

We're not going anywhere yet... just debating it.

I'm glad the EBT'ers are getting organised. The only way to fight HMRC is in numbers.

There must be a good number of us here who have been in both the DT and EBT schemes through MP.

Not heard anything about any efforts on the EBT side by MP though.

Actually, I would be if HMRC get their way. And I don't have 200. So if there is a minimum donation then I'm ruled out from being able to join.

For those suffering genuine hardship, we have always waived the donation. Obviously if the worst happens, there will be a hell of a lot more people suffering hardship. But meanwhile, it's £200 less into the pockets of HMRC and a chance to get a better outcome.

But DR addresses a valid point... do we continue on a public forum, benefiting people who stick their heads in the sand and refuse to contribute a penny to our campaign?

                  Forum

Like others who have posted recently, this forum has been very much a part of my life for the last 5 years or so, and I have found it both a source of much useful information and also a moral support; and at times a humorous diversion to cut through the depression. However I agree that it is probably time to re-boot the forum, and if that can be done in a more secure environment, with vetting of prospective members, then so much the better.

Over on the EBT side turnover and Old Kent Road have created their own private Google groups which allows them to vet joiners.

That would be a good place to start.

As long as a closed forum is purely for group discussion but without having anything confidential or revealing then I dont see why not.
If we had a closed forum without discussing anything confidential on it, then why bother moving from here? Confidential things aren't discussed here either.
Im sure HMRC will be receiving all the newsletters and know exactly what is going on whatever we do.
I pay by DD and have made various one-off donations in the past...not as much as I'd like but something at least.
I don't see the value of closing this forum and moving somewhere else - if we win, the people who have never paid up will benefit anyway, whether they read all our posts or not.
I think the level of discussion on here is about right and will probably help people to a) find us and b) choose to join.
As someone pointed out, there are only about 500 people contributing our of the thousands who are affected. Some may not have found this thread yet. Some may be undecided if it's worth contributing (why bother if we are going to lose anyway [not my feelings]?). Some may only decide to contribute once they receive their APN's and are crapping themselves.....better late than never eh?

If we shut up shop and go somewhere else, we lose those potential members - if someone said to me "there is a secret organisation who are fighting this but they want £200 from you before you can even get a feel for them" then I would probably not bother - sounds a bit scammy to me...how do I know they are not just taking them money and laughing their heads off at mugs like me?

Far better to have this public face here, the regular newsletters and hints and whiffs and sniffs of their content in the forum that might intrigue fence sitters enough to join up.

                      Please stay!
