I would generally agree, but I think most people would have found us by now - it's been 7 years since Section 58. Seems like forever.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who only has just found us - in which case I'm wrong!

One thing I would point out is that if people had hoped it had gone away (and many may well have done) they will only start to be interested once the next HMRC letter hits the mat...

        Unfortunately, that is true.

Only one other that I know of - a deGraaf client.

Came as a bit of a shock to him because obviously deGraaf hadn't forewarned him.

i get lots of comfort here - quiet often the debate is of a emotional nature as opposed to the technical nature of the ntrt output - which makes me feel part of a collective

and to be honest there is nothing stopping and im sure they already have - the other side getting a logon to ntrt

to DRs point a few days back - if MP have some stuff under wraps - all good - keep it that way until time to pull the trigger

both ntrt and this forum have been of real use

im hope/sure this forum will continue in some form

Im not so sure. I know of a couple of people who dont visit these boards and therefore didnt have visibility of the whole campaign outside of MP. Since I pointed them in this direction, I know 2 have joined but, I know a lot more contractors who dont bother with CUK. How many of these are affected by BN66?

Lots of people have their heads in the sand (or elsewhere) but Im not convinced moving to a secure forum would make them join. When all said and done, all the secure info is sent by email to keep members informed and as long as that info isnt in the thread, they dont benefit surely?

Anyway, as ever, just my thoughts.

IIRC MP did tell eveyone about NTRT.

I really am caught with this one, it has been a great lifeline to myself (and wife) and to many others but IMHO I do think the time has come to move on.

And to the many others who use this site who should have contributed but haven't good luck, paying £200 to me is a no brainer in comparison to what HMRC will eventually force out of you.

It will be a sad day if we do move on as it has been part of my daily life for 5 years

Lets not kid ourselves we could discuss things in private in a closed forum. I wouldnt put it past an HMRC spy to pay and register if they can get some nuggets of info to help their cause. We would!

As long as a closed forum is purely for group discussion but without having anything confidential or revealing then I dont see why not.
