Thank you for your email. I note the points that you make and the contents of the emails. I wrote to David Gauke following your earlier email but have not, as yet, had a response but will forward a copy once received. As regards your earlier email I had passed the information on to my colleague Stewart Hosie, who is our Treasury spokesperson, to look at.

Our position is that we are opposed in general to retrospective legislation. I will speak to Stewart again to see if there is any prospect of this matter coming up in the context of the Finance Bill which will be debated after the easter recess.

Regarding your above detailed, and I assume very time consuming summation. I respectfully suggest the above, together with DRs recent lists of fine detail is what we need to get in front of the next Treasury Select Committee.

As a eye opener is there any downside to sending a general letter to all 650 mp's? Or is it better to keep this personal?

Obviously someone has advised them on the matter, and I expect given our case is so closely aligned to exactly what they are doing to vodafone then it makes a perfect analogy for the Indian Government.

Possibly they did a quick google about UK retrospective tax and were met with our forum and the picture of a donkey.

In addition the Indian press picked up on it. Obviously not in as much detail as the previous tax article, but I suspect for this guy to quote like this, then it is almost certain that our case was bought up by the Indian government.

I am really pleased that our plight is getting some airtime outside of our BN66 affected community and MPs. I reckon comments against articles like this, much as Santa did could also have brought this to Indias attention.

It's like Carry On Hector Up The Khyber isn't it? I presume, as a British overseas territory, the Government get a slice of deals done through the island? Sort of state backed tax evasion (I mean avoidance) with a 'morally repugnant free' certificate of some kind?

This is exactly what we need, to highlight the complete our farce. Well done Hector, your cunning plan is just about to cost British investors and European companies a fortune.
