I'm not advertising, a marketing department does that, purely passing on advice from experience hoping it helps.

We aren't children on this board and know the different ways of advertising.......

BTW I've never met my accountant and only recently met one of the lawyers I've used. I also actually prefer if I get my emails answered properly the day I send them, something which I've heard that some people in your firm find difficulty in doing.

Since I raised the flag, I ought to offer positive feedback too.

It is a delicate business, offering advice online to raise one's business' profile without crossing the invisible line. This may be another way of saying what you wanted:

Some people find they prefer the confidence of being able to meet their accountant face-to-face. You might want to consider that when selecting an account. If so, you might want to choose either a local accountant or one of the national accountancy businesses with offices all over (e.g. us! ).

Also, do you want someone to just do your books, or someone you can building a relationship with to help you develop your business? Bear that in mind when deciding, too.
You could probably précis it down to a couple of sentences.

(That would probably instil the kind of feeling you were looking for; it seems in line with the kind of message Simon gave me when I was shopping around a few years ago.)

                  SJD vs Nixon Williams

I've been using SJD for a year and i'm pretty happy with them, but received an email recently that they are increasing the fees and now their services will cost 105+vat.
So now i'm considering a move to Nixon Williams as looks like they are charging 75+vat and that's a significant difference.

Did anyone do the same? Is Nixon williams service any worse at all?

Not sure what you mean by "any worse", I use Nixon Williams and am very happy, they are the most thorough compared to what I have seen others getting from their accountants.

Give them a call and see how you get on.

Honestly, how can I put this?

I'm with NW and have been an advocate of them since my day 1.. however........ I get the feeling they are exploding with business. I've had a new account manager and am not getting the same level of service as I was previously.

Yes, I have mentioned this to my account team and no, i'm not unhappy with them, BUT, it's not as shiny, happy, easy a choice as it was for me to recommend them a few months back.

that said, i'm still with them and based on previous experience would still stay with them, even given what I know now when compared to "other" options out there.

keep at it NW, but don't put quality < growth !
