However I have just had a call from Aston Mae who guarantee they can pay me 80% of my earnings while I would be an Employee so no company, no bank account, no accountant and no hassle.

Also less risk on IR35, but they also include a warranty to protect me just in case, and their fees are taken from the 20% so I ALWAYS get 80% of my earnings.

My dad taught me "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!" - I did ask where the catch was but he said there was not one.

Is there anyone smarter than me on here who can verify this - they said it was some legislation that the government uses that allows them to do it?

    thoughts?

    Simeon.
Without seeing a full disclosure of their scheme no-one can really comment on that, however maybe you should take a look at the BN66 thread.

Working on the basis that ultimately it's the tax payer that's responsible for their own tax affairs I'd be taking their claims with a gigantic pinch of salt.

Your dad was a wise man, you should listen to his advice.

Your Welcome Pack was posted to you on Tuesday, so you should have something for you when you get home. We normally schedule your Account Manager to call you after you have had time to digest the Welcome Pack. I will ask Adam to contact you in the morning.

Adele is not a sales rep! She is one of our accountants, we generally aim for one of our accountants to speak to new clients, so that you get the facts rather than sales talk

Anyway, welcome to Nixon Williams and thank you for choosing us.

Could I ask you to elaborate? I am seriously considering switching to Aston Mae from GIANT as my take-home percentage would be much higher.

I am also slightly suspect about how they do things, but I've not been able to find much on them online?

            TIA,

..and keep it factual, but I'm sure you will.

Haven't you allayed your own fears there?

Your take home might be higher, useful for buying-off the batty-boys while you serve your sentence for tax evasion....

Ask them how they would ensure that your tax home pay would be much higher; if the scheme is legitimate and compliant they should have no compunction in explaining to you exactly how it works.

It's difficult to comment as I would not like to say anything bad about them, but I got a lot of feedback suggesting is was not the right way to go. The guy did call me and he was very good at explaining things, but I just felt I did not know enough.

I would love to find someone who does use them and after 6 years is still ok but I just did not have the balls to try myself.

Good luck if you do try them!

                    Thanks

                    Simeon.

were the words 'offshore' or 'trust' mentioned by any chance?
