Do we know what "dirt" we will be presenting to the JR and under what basis? Call me a pessimist but can you honestly se ethe govermnet allowing us to win this....!??

I am aware of most of the arguments, but for obvious reasons don't want to say anything here.

The Government & HMRC have been defeated in the Courts many times before, so this is no different.

Personally, I don't think HMRC have got a leg to stand on.

Attendance at the JR

IMO, everyone who can attend should go, even if we can't all get in or have to take turns in shifts.

Over 50 people responded to the JCHR survey saying they faced the prospect of losing their home or bankruptcy. It would look odd if no-one bothered showing up for a hearing that could decide their family's future.

It was just a bit of a rant really, just about the retrospective nature of the CSA rules. Everybody who goes through it will have their own unpleasant story. I think it was you who said "you don't know who you married until you get divorced" - wise words indeed!

DR, go one better. If everyone can email or post to a website a picture of themselves then we could have a collage propped up at the back of the court. I think 2000 pics on a big 6' x 8' board would grab the attention of the court. And I think it could not be refused on the basis that the collage is there to represent all those who cannot attend due to the size of the court room and are indirectly, the defendents.

I may well be in the area then - but wouldn't go since my interest is purely as an observer and it would be unfair to take the seat of somebody who is directly affected. But do please try and let me know which boozer you'll be in afterwards. If I can make it I will.

It makes sense to have a pool of money to be able to make the most of our day in court - be it collage, banners etc. Its up to us to show the human element. I would be happy to contribute say £100 (more even) to be used for this type of awareness program. What does everybody think? My tax bill is probably about £250K so like everybody else - my future is being decided.

We don't just want a load of affluent looking city types in suits.

At point of the hearing I will be 7 months pregnant. Hugely impacted. It is very real for me and my whole family. I definitely plan to be there.

Reckon Hector will give up his seat for me? Somehow I think I know the answer to that......

There's a pub opposite the law courts called The George. Its hard to think we could make it as a group any further. Took a while to escape last time.
