If you haven't written to your MP about this, now might be a good time to step up the pressure. See link below.
I got a call from my MPs office yesterday regarding this (sent the letter last week) and the lady stated she had spoke to the chairman of the committee and they will not take up individual cases. I stated that I have requested they review this, but she was adamant that they will not. Couldn't get into too much detail as was walking to a station. Said I will get back to her.

    Any thoughts?

Well, the Committee are clearly considering it, so I think she may be mistaken. Is your MP Labour by any chance?

I am not surprised the Labour chairman is trying to resist this. He is probably being lent on by the Treasury to keep it buried.

However, I've gone behind his back and sent a memo to all the non-labour members.

It may yet come to nothing but it was definitely worth a try.

        Hi DR

Conservative. Very difficult to get my MP's personal view on this, just state they take up constituents queries with the appropriate ministers.
I asked whether had just read the individual cases part from the JCHR website but said she had spoken directly with the chairman.

It sounds like the Chairman fobbed her off. However, I suspect he's had too many MPs write to him now to just sweep this under the carpet. That's why I wanted as many people to write as possible (he who shouts loudest etc).

You'd think after all the crap that's gone down lately, these self-serving bastards might be a little bit more humble about whose interests they are there to represent.

I'll PM you with the name of the officer who emailed me if you want to get her to try again.

            MPs suffering

            According to Nadine Dorries MP...

The stress, worry, anxiety is affecting their work & familiy life. Many are beyond despair, some even contemplating suicide.

Now they know how some of us feel.

Tragic isn't it? And they're only a few weeks into it! Wonder what they'll be feeling like if they'd had five years of being sh*t on. My heart bleeds.

Looking through the letters that I have kept, HMRC did not write to me to say they intend the challenge the arrangement until 2006 - I joined in 2001. All letters prior to this said they are 'concidering making a challenge'.
You can ask for anything you want. Even make multiple DPA requests.
The more specific you are, the less easy it is for them to avoid the request.

Be prepared though to contact the Information Commissioner if you do not get what you want.

Got my FOI requests stuff from HMRC at the weekend.

                  From the Data Protection Officer.

Unfortunately the "Data Protection Officer" didn't deem that my data was worth protected so put a huge amount of paperwork into a flimsly jiffy bag. Guess what happened next?

Yip, that's right. It was open when it arrived via Royal Mail with a lovely clear plastic wrapped around it with an apology from the Royal Mail.

I'm absolutely livid that my personal tax affairs were treated like this and left on show to the world, not to mention the concerns I have over identity theft !

Should I complain to HMRC or will that just stir up crap I don't want stirred up?

                    ...till the pips squeak

A father walks into a restaurant with his young son. He gives the
young boy 3 pennies to play with to keep him occupied. Suddenly,
the boy starts choking, going blue in the face. The father realizes the boy has swallowed the pennies and starts slapping him on the back. The boy coughs up 2 of the pennies, but keeps choking. Looking at his son, the father is panicking, shouting for help.

A well dressed, attractive, and serious looking woman, in a blue
business suit is sitting at a coffee bar reading a newspaper and
sipping a cup of coffee. At the sound of the commotion, she looks up,
puts her coffee cup down, neatly folds the newspaper and places it on
the counter, gets up from her seat and makes her way, unhurried,
                    across the restaurant.

Reaching the boy, the woman carefully drops his pants; takes hold of
the boy's testicles and starts to squeeze and twist, gently at first
and then ever so firmly. After a few seconds the boy convulses
violently and coughs up the last penny, which the woman deftly
catches in her free hand. Releasing the boy's testicles, the woman hands the penny to the father and walks back to her seat at the coffee bar without saying a word.

As soon as he is sure that his son has suffered no ill effects, the
father rushes over to the woman and starts thanking her saying, "I've
never seen anybody do anything like that before, it was fantastic. Are
                    you a doctor? "

'No,' the woman replied. .......................I'm with the Inland Revenue.

If she was good looking and in a short skirt, I might even willing to cough up a few pennies for the 'heavy' petting
