BBT - I think is just another name for a FBT - Family Based Trust.

Received my reply from Michael Mates (well, actually his secretary):

"Mr. Mates has already taken up with the Minister the points you raise and awaits a reply. He will send you a copy when it comes to hand."

Well, that's something I suppose, especially as in the same post I got my CNs

Can't pay, won't pay comes to mind...

A friend of mine using the MP scheme approached HMRC via their own solicitor with regard to making a "deal" and received back the following:-

"S58 FA 2008 is current law and so we have an obligation to collect the full amount of tax and interest that is due in accordance with S58".

              Any ideas?
Wonder what they'd say if you asked ' can I have the same deal you offered Suomotu clients in 2003, then left it 5 years building up interest, before having a moment of epiphany in 2008 that the scheme didnt work because a law passed in 1987, which had nothing to do with the way this scheme operated, could be changed, masked as clarification, so the scheme didnt work, then lie to the treasury committee and apply a three line whip, ignoring the concerns of the opposition parties and industry experts about the wisdom and legality of such actions, and bounce it into the law books, then threatening people with distraint, sending bailiffs round, and refusing to do any deals'

can I have that deal? please?
