I'm actually owed tax as well - however, when I rang and asked for it, they said as I was 'under investigation' they couldn't repay it. I assume I could kick up a fuss, but didn't feel it was worth it given the lowish sum involved.

I just logged in and my status has changed from "you have overpayed" to "this service is not available at the moment". I guess I'm getting updated as we speak.

          Letter to MP

          Hi All,

Only found out about the forum 2 days ago and have read the whole thing through to get up to speed. I wish I had known about it earlier because it has been a great comfort to know that there are others in the same position. So much thanks due to everyone in particular DR & BP for their insights and thoughts. It makes me feel more upbeat about a positive outcome.

I participated in the MP scheme from 2003 so I think that I am quite seriously exposed. I had a lot of questions which I sometimes directed to MP and was not always satisfied with the response. I guess that they had the same questions coming at them thick 'n' fast from everyone else. This forum has answered most of my concerns and, like I said, am more positive now although you never know what's going to happen whilst this lot are in charge of the country.

Am just about to send a letter to my MP who I understand is actually quite proactive with regards to issues concerning his constituents. I will certainly push for a meeting to explain the situation in more detail. Will let you know if there's any outcome.

In the meantime, keep the faith...

Gov Gateway - Agent Change ?

I have just looked on the gateway and can find no mention of investigations etc on my account, could that be because I haven't had any CN's yet ?

I also noticed that my 'Agent' is still listed as MontP, do I need to change this ?

I 'operate' as an employee of an umbrella company now (not sure if I should give the name on here) which, although technically is a spin off from MontP, is a separate entity. Should I change my agent to be the umbrella company ?

6 years with Montpelier, I am listed as having no agent. Is this relevant?

The Agent is the person or company you have authorised to submit tax returns etc, normally an accountant. If you have no agent it just means you submit your SA return.
