I suppose it couldn't do any harm but the real impact comes from people directly affected by it, and especially those who are facing ruin or serious financial difficulties.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we could reach more people in the scheme?
Back on November 14th I received an email 'out of the blue' from 'Nomen Nescio - nobody@dizum.com' directing me to this forum.
I have no idea who the sender was or how he got my email address and indeed knew that I was on the MP scheme, but I assume that some kind of list must exist.

How about speaking to the Steed & Degraff contacts and asking them to email their clients asking them to join the blog.
This document contains all the sordid details of the deal HMRC did with the Suo Motu clients.
Once we've got this scanned in it will be going to Montpelier.
ooooh now thats interesting....sets a bit of a precedent I presume which if, its appealing to us we could also leverage and ask for the same deal to be applied to MP scheme users too?
I cant see how its fair for one scheme group to have an under the counter deal, while another group suffers a more severe punishment...? I presume this is one of MP's lines of attacks

The deal wasn't very good but it was still a deal.
Think about it. In 2003 they do a deal with one scheme who approached them. The same year they open enquiries on 200 Montpelier users. The scheme grows year on year from 2003 onwards. What do they do? Nothing for 5 years.
Why didn't they offer us the same deal in 2003 or 2004 or 2005 or 2006 or 2007?
That isn't going to look too good for HMRC in court!!!

Thats excellent news. I think this is going to be VERY important to our case.
Many thanks Brillo for doing the digging. I dont suppose it mentions shopping clients of MTM to the revenue in return for the deal?
HMRC.... are you reading this.... you're sh*t and you know it

The irony being that Mr shhh you know who tried to sabotage the MP scheme and might, just might have done us all a huge favour and preserved the company he tried to bring down in the process....

Sorry but I have had no time to read it : but will be scanned soon.
I would like to thank the person doing the scanning : and the chap (you know who you are!) who spent hours digging out stuff that is 6 years old! There are 12 pages worth : including a formal letter from HMRC!
But this is what I mean about us all standing together and acting as a team : HMRC really do not stand a chance!
I may have missed this (sorry), but can someone explain exactly what this new news/evidence actually means to us and our case? Aren't the HMRC allowed to do whatever they wish with whomever? Each persons case is his own individual case? I am hoping we can use this but I am just wondering what the judge might say....thinking how he seemed to say retrospective laws are fine in the recent JR denial.
