At the moment there is no date for the verbal submission : let alone a date for the outcome.

How to calculate what I might owe ..... ?

As I have yet to receive an CN's , is there an accurate formula for working out what I potentially might owe ?

I am assuming the following ....

      1. (Trust 'income' for 04/05 * 33%) + (7.5% * 3)
the '3' being the number of years since Jan 06 when the tax would have come due.
      2. (Trust 'income' for 05/06 * 33%) + (7.5% * 2)
      3. (Trust 'income' for 06/07 * 33%) + 7.5%
      4. (Trust 'income' for 07/08 * 33%)

Would this be about right ?

      thanks

That is about right : but you could ask montp for a more accurate figure.

Thank you, I didnt wanter to bother MP with them being so busy.

Knowing an exact figure won't make me any more likely to find a pot of money hidden under my bed to pay it with, just thought I'd get a rough idea !

            thanks

Did he mention anything in his reply? He's been sat on
my letter since last October. I'll find time to speak to him.

                1st SA arrived

Hi, I've just received my Statement of Account for the years 2001/2002 and am in the process of sending it to MontP; I just need to know do I need to sign the appeal before sending?

Also I left the scheme in May 2003 but in a covering letter they show my trust account having income for the 04/05 period, albeit just a few grand, why would this be.

thanks in advance for your help.

Rally more people out of the scheme to submit letters of concern?

I am thinking about the effiicacy getting more people involved in expressing concern to the MP's beyond just us that are directly affected. I dont know exactly how this looks, but I do think that if more people were writing, directly affected or not, that would be leverage. Someone mentioned Facebook a few days back, and while I am aware people may look at us negatively (and incorrectly, just as they are doing with the "bankers" getting the bonuses right now), there has to be something that would help us beyond just our small collective....

I suppose it couldn't do any harm but the real impact comes from people directly affected by it, and especially those who are facing ruin or serious financial difficulties.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we could reach more people in the scheme?

Gathering together all of the data...

One thing that has struck me reading the forum is how many times the HMRC violate certain rules and attempt to get away with murder. I read a few a couple of weeks ago that got me seeing red. Maybe its worth collecting all of these examples together, so we have a concise set of demonstrations of how our current potential plight is due to the HMRCs violations?

                      Just thinking out loud.
