Jesus, they couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery. I would have been tempted to forward it on to the intended recipient with a covering note.

Is there anything particular relating to your case? If so PM me and I will try to help get a response.

I dont think montp are interested in dishing the dirt on HMRC. Seriously. They dont want to get involved in minor disputes - they are focused on the bigger picture.

They left loads of bits out of my closure notices as well. Such as the statement of my liability including the interest charges.

I think the Inland Revenue are trying to lull us into a false sense of security by pretending to be extremely incompetent.......not!

The worm is turning. Have you got a spare batman outfit?

Seriously though, the government introduced this insidious piece of legislation under the guise of targeting "fat cat" property developers. It makes me both sad and angry to hear how this is going to cripple many people and lead to family breakups or possibly worse. Countering tax avoidance is one thing but destroying ordinary families is a step way too far.

If and when the time comes, count me in.

What does the closure notice look like? I got a letter a couple of weeks back telling me how much income for each year they this is now taxable, but it didn't say anything about being a 'closure notice' nor did it include any details on what I owe and any interest.
