I've had closure notices for 05, 06 and 07.

Came to quite a lot of money.

Sent them through to montp.

If the Inland Revenue's case is as much a shambles as the return they have sent me, I think we can be confident they will fail.

anyone worked out yet whether the daily interest they are charging u going forward seems to be calculated half reasonably.... the one closure notice i have seen so far seemed to have an amount that came to over 10% on a simple basis instead of 7.5%... maybe just another typical HMRC **** up i spose, but be interested to hear if others have similar errors. i expect my CN will be there at home for me tonight or over next few days then... just went and made a CHAPS payment for CTD this morning - that hurts.

I think though that this will be decided between the barrister boys - and I think it will be more complex than scissor, paper, stones.....

They put in their letter they are awaiting accounts for all other tax years hence me only gettin it for one year..

I thought they got all the accounts back in July?

I can see them really fcuking this up, and it wouldn't surprise me if some people don't receive closure notices or if they lose some of the appeal notices.

I will certainly be checking the figures very carefully when I eventually get a closure notice.

Some of the accounts didn't go in on time - Most did though!! HMRC being ok with us though cos we did send in loads. Any £50 fines for accounts will be paid by us - no questions.

Re the closure notices.... got a fella in Australia - HMRC sent the closure notice surface mail Only for a glitch in the system we found out about it - how long after the appeal window do you think he would have got it?

Yes, I was told that by MP. I think they were grouped by the partnership name. Not sure if they were done in alphabetical order??? Mine began with H and didn't get done on time. I was told MP would foot any fines.

Brillo - i contacted MP about it... but yet to hear back, guess they are quite busy again, so i'm not going to chase them...just interested to hear of other f ups by Hector i guess.. will let u know what mine looks like when i get it.
