Believe or not, other forums have the same issue. The consensus seems to be, if you can't add anything constructive, don't respond.

I have to ask, does this forum really, really want to be a serious resource for new and existing contractors or more of a social forum for a few regulars - because thats how it looks from the outside.

So your challenge now is to go find one newbie-initiated post of whatever flavour that asks a technical or financial question that didn't get answered... You won't find many.
    Blog? What blog...?

Does being a serious resource mean we have to answer every banal question pointed our way in explicit detail even though we have answered it hundreds of times before and the answer to the question is in a sticky at the top of the page.

I really don't see what the big issue is. If you run down the threads in this part of the forums and read the information in them they have all been answered and are full of useful information. What is wrong with the way it works right now?

Does that mean you can't find one?

Perhaps that little SEARCH thingy at the top of the page should be highlighted with flashing arrows pointing at it, and a big sign saying click here

No, a two day stew is in order at the very least.
Denny went over the top by attacking a Moderator who was merely doing a thankless but necessary job. The open attack on the forum was uncalled for and tactless to say the least.
PM's and emails are easy to use and both are more polite and conducive to an amicable settlement of any dispute.
