I understood the 2 years rule only really mattered if you'd use ER or whatever it's been rebranded to.

If you just pay your CGT there's no tax repayment/clawback when restarting in the same trade/work within 2 years? So long as the liquidation had justification e.g. went to employment.

Nope. It's in the TAAR, so it's about the capital distribution not the additional saving through ER/BADR.

Agree with this, but if it was a blanket ban then there was never a determination. And honestly, with the numbers involved, the odds are on our side.

Ironically, I have an SDS for this gig which determined outside, *then* they blanket banned!

Absolutely. I'd even be careful moving to another role if that same role was previously filled by an inside IR35 contractor.

Fair play - the new PM said she'd look at IR35 and the new chancellor promised to reduced tax.

They've done both - rather than just talking about it.

HMRC has no central data on the SDS that have been issued - how would they know?

After 12 years of nonsense, we might actually finally have a tory government?

With two years until a general election Truss has to throw everything she can at the economy. If she is successful, she wins another 5 years. If it goes t*ts up and she loses the next election then that's OK too, because then at the next but one election we can blame labour again.

I think it's close to being a win/win situation for Truss. Meantime the country is pretty much sinking under the debt pile.
