      Jam for all!

EDIT: dammit, it's in the prof forums.

Some tax tinkerings but no major changes.

Like all budgets I think will get a bit of a kicking, the degree of which I wouldn't like to say, but I can't remember a budget that hasn't hit our pockets in some form or another. Unfortunate but no real issues.

Not sure what Rishi can do.

Raise taxes and hit those who are still working harder.

Think it will be no real change. As pandemic is still with us.

Just keep seeing all the doom and gloom in the press, like increasing NI for self employed, etc

Big thing will be if stamp duty is moved or left were it is.

Did read about a review of how property is taxed. Replacing council tax and stamp duty with a property levy??

Cannot see them raising CT as may tip some barely surviving businesses over.

I suspect it will be a deferred kicking. ie. no major immediate changes, but getting us ready to feel the pain later this year/next year.

I can't see them keeping the stamp duty holiday in place (unless its some concession for in-flight purchases) - all that is doing is keeping the housing market (some would say artificially) inflated.

A mate of mine in political circles is suggesting one or more of the following:

                    VAT increase
                    1-2p tax increase
                    reduction in the tax bands
usual assaults on things like booze, fags, fuel
                    corporation tax increase
