    Service not getting any better.

Just had an automated message supposedly from my contact asking me to confirm I've updated some Vantage software that they've never mentioned to me before.

Loads of stuff to sort out with them (their mistakes) then leaving to go with a local accountant.

Try Dolan Accountancy - they are used to dealing with accounts for contractors - worth a call

They don’t deserve your hard earned cash. It’s unacceptable how they treat paying clients. If enough leave they might take notice as it’ll start to impact profitability.

You might as well avoid SJD and NixonWilliams - I imagine their trajectory is what is expected once venture capitalists get involved.

Why move to a small unknown distant individual or group just because they post here? I find the continual references here to Dolan enough to avoid them and any links with similar services.

Honestly, general contractor accounts and a yearly SATR aren't all that complicated to manage. Even with complex SATR management £100 to £165 pcm is rather steep. For those with employees, I accept it's another matter and a worthwhile fee from a specialist accountant.

The days of pumping contractors who invoice similar amounts regularly are over.

What is it with this Vantage thing - it's never been mentioned to me by NW but I notice there's a link on the NW website and a few posters have mentioned it here - is it some kind of FreeAgent alternative?

I'm waiting for my year end (or rather just before) to start looking around for an alternative accoutant. Service aside, I'd rather pay a small independent than fund some venture capitalist.

Not been a good year. Two changes of accountant, mistakes in the annual return, 2 day wait for replies, no forum presence...

For all the world looking like a company that is about to fold.

They don’t give a damn, you can complain, escalate but in the end the only option is to vote with your feet!

I would write a complaint to the Practice Manager if you are unsatisfied with be service as this person is under the illusion they are providing a remarkable service and outstanding customer satisfaction!

A number of friends are also unhappy with the service and will leave as soon as their year end accounts have been completed.
