Bear in mind that the emails were sent, shock horror, to an email address, not a particular device. They will have no clue, without considerable cost, as to where the communications have been stored and read after they have left the company's cyber-estate. For all they know, you could have something set up which automatically catches the emails, forwards them on, posts them to a public FTP site, RIVAL BANK or anything.
