Nearly +4'd this then I thought about it. I think the recommendation is a good start. By all means get an accountant that fits but without a recommendation it's going to be difficult to get the right fit.

I went with BI Accountancy and have had really good help before and after I signed up. Even apologised the one time I missed my contact because he was in a meeting. I havent been with them for a long time so far but so far so good.

I would avoid any accountant recommended by your agency or recruiter. They are only interested in what they get as a kick back and not on the service you are buying. Go for recommendation and a specialist, in my experience the local high street accountants do not really understand contractors.

I use Nixon Williams who are efficient but there's no portal to speak of.
