From what we hear, they did apply for permission to appeal.

An early Happy New Year to everybody at HMRC.
May you enjoy another 12 year period of inactivity in the run up to your retirements.
At least that's the time period of which I'm aware.

                    DeGraaf Members APNs

                    Dear all

Just to let you know we have sent a circular to all members regarding APNs for those on the DeGraaf scheme.

This doesn't apply to non-DeGraaf members, so please excuse the blanket email, but we didn't want to miss anyone.

                    Thanks

                      An invitation from HMRC

I have received a letter from HMRC stating that my APN has been withdrawn

There is the following statement in it:

"In the light of the above case law, all of which has gone in favour of HMRC, you should now decide whether it is time to put the past behind you and get your tax affairs in order by settling your appeal and/or paying what you owe."

Dear HMRC ... can I please request permission to use your time machine (you know, the one you used to make the case law go in favour of you) - I would like to put my past in front of me please and re-arrange my affairs. Equal rights for all, right?
