I'm in no way an expert, but I don't think there's any relationship or benefit to EBTs from the TAA. Presumably because the argument relies on you having an agency contract, receiving employment earnings and being classed as employed to do so...where as EBTs are loans, and presumably it would require you to change the circumstances of the income, modify the SA Returns accordingly and claim that the loans were in fact taxable employment earnings ...

In any case, wasn't there a successful tribunal recently which was good news for loan schemes?

        WHS

EBTs have already got a perfectly good defence, namely that they were loans not taxable income.

Message for the person who has voted No

If you'd like to PM me I'd be interested to know why you've chosen not to.

          Thanks

            TAA Vote

            And Another big YES

            Comment

I just voted Yes but what's next? I'm a MP customer and am currently waiting on them to try and put my APN's in ice but I don't want to miss out on TAA. If MP can't put things on ice I will have to remortgage so will need to get that ball rolling soon. I don't want whats going on with MP and their case to ruin my opportunity with the TAA argument.

              What do I do next.

BTW I haven't received the communication on the QC's opinion on the Fraud angle. Should I have received an email? (I got the first one)
              Regards

Don't bother asking. PM admin and he might tell you which of the trolls it was. Though he will probably not be bothered. They might have voted for the AndyW option if you had followed CUK rules!

The post rate here is now getting ridiculous. Several very important posts inter spaced with interesting stuff but not going to affect the outcome. I bet most have missed the important posts.

Maybe you need a S58 section in CUK? Or at least a S58 important notices thread where only DR can post? I have suggested DR for moderator which might help lighten the load - though admin seems unimpressed.

Several people are getting quite upset - not surprisingly really. I am not sure threatening the ban hammer should be the only way forward here. People do need to be advised to seek medical help.

Not sure why I am posting this as I will pop back tomorrow and find another 10 pages of stuff to wade through. I had to leave the NTRT steering committee due to coming home and finding 80 emails to go through. Looks like I am going to be driven from CUK as well. Which might well be for the best.

DR, could you please direct me to the exact thread for such matters. Like to progress that in parallel. Cheers, TGE

There is no conflict between what we're doing and what MP are doing on the APN front.

No To Retro Tax - Ongoing battle against S58 FA2008

If DR wants to set up a S58 notice board I can lock it and he can send me updates to post.

(I can move posts from here to there, he just has to tell me which ones need to be moved.)
