No reply yet but initial reply was a bit unsympathetic.
Yip same for me. I actually never received any closure notices it all went to MP.
I did ask HMRC for copies but can never remember if I received them.Comment

I don't expect this would even go to a FTT. HMRC could never risk losing in court a decision like this. It would be devastating for them.
It's in everyone's interest (HMRC and Us) to get settlement negotiations underway now and stop giving hundreds of thousands of pounds to lawyers.
How we all agree on an acceptable number is the tough one! A lot of people would be happy for pre 2008 interest to be taken off, but others will stop at nothing but zero.

Docs Questions
Rifled through all the documentation over the years - what exactly are closure notices (dumb question?). I have received so many depressing and threatening letters about and have a large folder of documents. Is it a stack of documents with
"Information about our check on your Self Assessment Tax Return - year ended 5 April 200X"?
I have four sets of this with assumed calculations and a large amount I allegedly owe - is this the stack I need to send to CCW? I can't find anything that says 'Closure Notice'Comment

Paid Up
Registered and paid up! - Thanks all. Just need to find out what documents are actually required. I must admit I am very poor with doc management. Also as the docs are so manically depressing I always have avoided to do it when I can.
I thank everyone on the forum for providing help and support for what has been a torrid decade and more. Special thanks to Donkey and the NTRT team - will surely buy you a beer and then some for all your hard work and support when this sorry state of depressingly unfair of affairs is over.Comment
