Who are they telling you to switch to - as I bet that list includes names you may need to switch from again in the next few weeks.

literally the only FSCA umbrella that I know would pass a forensic audit is Clarity because we audited them in real-time for a year and a half

You might find agencies will pull Orange Genie off their approved supplier lists should they be removed as members of FCSA. As of the moment they are still memebers according to the website.

I see a bit of noise about this but I haven't seen a response from Orange Genie about this. I would have thought they would be shouting from the rooftops to try defend themselves or explain the situation.

Anyone seen the response from Orange Genie? Or have they been caught with their pants down and staying silent is their best option?

I saw someone report on Twitter that they received an email from Orange Genie themselves earlier this week. It would appear that Orange Genie are slowly being dropped from PSLs.

They can’t - the maths is incredibly simple and doesn’t lie.

The irony is that if they had been greedier and taken a percentage it would be harder to demonstrate and prove.

I suspect at least 1 umbrella that skimmed an extra percentage will appear in the next few weeks

and then contractor voice will probably move on to the really complex to explain cases

Who knows that exist - because I didn’t.

heck by the look of it HMRC don’t even know it still exists because that does not meet government website standards in so many ways..

Most people are clueless and don’t know.

heck, most people don’t know that they should be checking their HMRC personal tax account

So someone on LinkedIn has received a phone call and explanation of what the deduction was for - it pays for the Orange genie benefits scheme. However that’s a problem because if that isn't included in the margin - it needs to be treated as a taxable benefit on which (as a minimum) National Insurance is due.

In which case the payment should not being deducted within the employer costs section but within your payslip as a taxable benefit.

                      So lovely explanation that

                      1) I don't believe because the Orange Genie website states membership of the scheme is free and
                      2) has just made their problem a lot bigger because it's now £4m on which NI should have been paid.

                      oops
