A a couple of weeks ago,as it was local and I was waiting for a start date at boe, I did the same last year whilst waiting for cabinet office to sort clearance I said then never again.

They phoned and asked me to complete a survey, I suggested they wouldn't like the results, but they insisted, I also completed an online one.

I used Paystream last year and can mirror the earlier comments...absolutely awful.
Havent heard of the other 2.

I am currently using Contractor Umbrella and so far so good. They also offer the same rewards scheme as PayStream.

I did ask if I could use any umbrella company of my choice and was told I can only use one of the three listed. Apparently the locum agency has been working with these three companies for a long time and they are their preferred and trusted umbrella companies.

Is it that their communication and timeliness of pay are awful, or did they make incorrect tax calculations?

You submit your timesheet and invoice and ask when you will get paid, the say, they will ring you back, they never do so you ring again on a daily basis they will then start coming up with 'reasons' why you will not get paid, which you can refute, they will ring you back, they then pay you for your 2nd week still having not paid 1st week, then they pay you for 1st week but use the same tax week as 2nd week so no tax free allowance, but can’t see that they have made a mistake.

One guy waited 7 weeks they then charged him 25 quid for early payment.! They do not have a clue, you never speak to the same person twice, they keep no records of the calls, it is quite difficult whilst onsite to spend the time necessary to do their job for them.

My experience miirrors that of Anonimouse. I was only with them a short time (2 months). Being paid every 2 weeks. Out of 4 payslips, they got 2 wrong in terms of amount to pay me.
The amount of time I spent on the phone trying to get it sorted was ridiculous so left and went to another brolly.

Here we go again; for balance I've been with Paystream for 12 months now and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever :-) I complete my timesheet on my agency website, authorised by Tuesday by client, paid on Friday, this has been week in week out.

yaa boo and bully for you, I have been forced to use them 3 times now an every time has been a disaster.

I too completed my timesheet on Friday and had it authorised, they still couldn’t do their job.

Um, you're a nice person aren't you. I was putting my side forward, as I said for balance not to be big, to demonstrate not all experiences with them are negative.
