Where's a good place to go and try some office chairs ?

Hi,

Inspired by recent threads about office chairs I'm thinking of buying a new one but I don't want to order without trying it first so I wondered if anyone can tell me a shop that keeps a varied stock so I can try a few out ? I know PC world has a few but didn't really like any of them, is there a big London shop that stocks such things ?

I tried both the Herman Miller Aeron and Mirra at my local John Lewis. Decided on the Mirra and ordered elsewhere for about 300 quid less.

Funny as I have been looking for chairs for awhile I couldn't find anywhere in the Manchester area that had a decent choice. Will pop in to John Lewis on the way home. Why on earth someone would pay £850 for the Mirra when a simple search brings up 100's of people selling them for £575 I will never know.

I've got a £13 chair from ASDA, it's fine! Got arms, swivels, castors, faux leather, better than my chair at work..

I went to John Lewis to try the Herman Millers out and just sitting on them I wasn't impressed. It wasn't until the guy came over and demonstrated did I realise what they are about. Pretty damn clever aren't they. I did love the chair, just not so sure I loved it to the tune of £600 when I need 2!! SWMBO will go ape when she finds out how much they are. Maybe need to do some more thinking.
