    Document Management System

Anyone use a document management system for home / LtdCo?

So scanning incoming stuff in and making it searchable?

If so what do you use?

Am aware of DocMgr and Alfresco open source projects, anyone reccomend them? or others?

How much incoming stuff do you have?

It would probably be simpler to implement a basic filing system so at least you know where to find stuff

I like alfresco but its overkill and a lot of work for what you want.

Surely if you use the right keywords in the name of the doc the standard search in file manager works fine?

Do you have a lot more documentation than standard contractor business stuff?

Scans, good filing, metadata. No more needed than that really unless you have hundreds of docs to manage.

I use OpenDocMan. It is opensource and fills my requirements nicely.

Evernote is pretty much the best thing out there for this - and it is a great note taking system too.
