V tempted for the HTC One Z... May pop out today / weekend actually!I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you! -
You must be really old and blind then. I really like the newer fonts, and the general cool blue theme.Originally posted by Platypus View PostSmaller finer font though, I had to up the default font size (accessibility feature) which made me feel really old and blind
Supposedly more things use GPU acceleration, which is the thing Apple got right from the start and Android have been playing catch up. At first Flash wouldn't work in the browsers, which annoyed me as that was half the reason I upgraded from my previous phone, and for the same reason iPlayer wouldn't work. But they've sorted it out now.
The battery monitor shows the system and OS as using a much larger share of the battery than it used to. Mine currently says 40%, whereas with Gingerbread it was only ever about 5%. I think that's where the battery use scare stories come from. In reality, mine seems to last the same 4 days with light use as it did before.
It's all good IMO.Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Google (really Samsung) Nexus S. 4 days is with me leaving it in my pocket and hardly touching it; if I use it as a web browser for any length of time then I do need to charge it every night.Originally posted by scooby View PostWhat phone are you using??

The update came through for my Galaxy S2 the other day.
Great at first. Used the facial recognition thingy for a bit but decided it was making me think too much about cutting back on the beer and fags and maybe getting some exercise. Too slow to unlock as well, quicker to use the pattern thing.
Bit annoyed that the dual view on the samsung remote app no longer works and for some reason my browser keeps crashing. This also happens if I use Dolphin or Opera Mini. Webpage opens, then after a bit, bang it's gone. Getting fecking annoying now. Can fix it for a bit by deleting the associated application data from the app manager but it seems to come back.
Anyone else having browser issues?Comment

Have you tried Chrome?
Have you tried the Chrome browser? For ICS users you can now download a native Chrome browser which I've found to be pretty awesome so far - nice easy interface, multi-tab browsing plus it has a nice feature where if you tap a link when not zoomed-in and it isn't sure which link you wanted, you get a little popup zoomed window with the links in it so you can choose the one you want - found this much better than other browsers which just seem to guess which link you hit and you end up waiting for the next page to load before realising it was the wrong one.
On the whole I'm loving ICS on my Galaxy S2 - the previous Android version I had running (2.3.4) had terrible battery life issues, I could barely get 1 day from it, even with light usage. Now on ICS it probably lasts double that.
Agreed the face unlock is a gimmick, I didn't even bother trying - swipe to unlock is much better.Comment

Nope, works perfectly. Only problem I have is the usual Android one of losing connection to the WiFi and not reconnecting automagically.Originally posted by alluvial View PostThe update came through for my Galaxy S2 the other day.

Downloading over the client's WFI now but I have a horrible feeling that as I get the problem in three separate browsers that I may get the same with Chrome.
Apparently a factory reset is required but I can't be arsed yet to battle with Kies to get it to backup the phone.Comment

I don't get that problem but I wish it would choose the better connection when there is more than one available.Originally posted by malvolio View PostNope, works perfectly. Only problem I have is the usual Android one of losing connection to the WiFi and not reconnecting automagically.Comment

Only problem I've had so far is one time it wouldn't display any pages, just a black rectangle where the page was supposed to be (could still see the new tab button etc.) but a reboot of the phone fixed that and touch wood it's not happened since then...Originally posted by alluvial View PostCheers, worth a try.
