    Internet drops when phone rings

I have a problem with my internet connection at home. When the phone rings and someone answers it, the internet connection is lost. After a minute or so it usually restores itself (even if someone is still using the phone)

I'm lost as to what the issue is... Here is a schematic of the way the router is connected to the phone line. There are no other sockets in use around the house.

    Anyone got any suggestions?

Two things, just because you can't see any more sockets doesn't mean that there aren't any that are blocked off which could still be causing problems.

My first bit of advice would be to invest in Visio
My second bit of advice is to replace the microfilters

Even if the other sockets aren't in use? I will try replacement microfilters. Ta.

If you disconnect the 2m extension from the master socket and make a phonecall does the internet drop?

          What exactly drops??

The internet signal to the Router so everything including cabled connection to router goes down?
          OR
The wireless signal to your equipment but hardwired connection is ok?

Could be your phone is on same channel as your wireless?

I can try that too over the weekend.

I take it there is nothing glaringly obviously wrong with the set up I have drawn out above

Trouble with that is that the extension is burried under skirting board etc and goes to a cupboard where the router lives and all the Cat5e terminates

Erm, that was a joke. If you disconnect the 2m cable your router won't be connected so won't have any internet will you
